Hey June,
Ah, winter - the shorts & singlets have been tucked away in the wardrobe ready for the sun to peak out in a few months. In their place, fluffy scarves and warm coats are adorned to brace the chill of the season. What winter does bring is the perfect season to cozy up with a glass of deep, rich red wine.
For June, we have set our sights west to Margaret River. With an international reputation for first-class cabernet sauvignon, it only seemed fitting.
Please welcome our June release: the 2020 Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wine is a rich, deep ruby red with a tinge of crimson against the light. Bursting with aromas of blueberry, cherry and spice, hints of dusty earthiness peak through along with dried orange peel, chocolate and cedar.
On the palate, it shows a fuller structure while maintaining an elegant character. The predominant flavours are ripe mulberry and blueberries, complemented by spices and fine-grained graphite tannins, leading to a long, pencil-like finish.
This bold expression promises to develop beautifully with time.
The inspiration for the Fraser Gallop Cabernet Sauvignon style was found in the great wines of Bordeaux. Within the winery and vineyard, you will find practices reflective of those traditionally employed in France.

Wilyabrup, Margaret River
Situated on the coast of Western Australia between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste, lies the Margaret River region.
Margaret River has a climate unique to Australia wine regions, but also likened to Bordeaux. However, what sets it apart is the influence of the sea. Surrounded by water on three sides, Margaret River's climate conditions are considered 'Mediterranean maritime', resulting in mild winters and warm, dry summers.
Vines in Margaret River are privileged with a diverse range of soils , which are highly permeable. Frost is a rarity in this region, allowing for peak conditions for grapes to thrive.
Established in 1999, Fraser Gallop Estate lies nestled in Margaret River’s Wilyabrup valley, embraced by the Indian Ocean's moderating influence from the north and west.
With 50 acres of vines spread across gentle slopes shaped by winding tributaries leading to Wilyabrup Brook, the estate boasts gravelly laterite loams over clay subsoil - perfect for cultivating Bordeaux and Burgundy grape varieties.
This unique terroir not only shapes the wines' colour, flavours, and aromas but has also earned the vineyard acclaim as one of the region's most distinguished.
Designed by winemaker Clive Otto in 2008, the Fraser Gallop Estate winery is tailored for crafting Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends.
By prioritizing minimal intervention, natural yeasts, and a blend of traditional methods with modern techniques, their wines showcase immediate balance and finesse upon release while promising longevity with proper cellaring.
