Giacomo Boveri and his wife Sara are renowned winemakers based in Tortona, Piedmont, at the forefront of the revival of Timorasso, a once-forgotten white grape now celebrated as one of Italy's finest. Their estate has become a benchmark for quality in the region, producing wines that exemplify the terroir of the Colli Tortonesi

Timorasso is often likened to the "white Barolo" due to its complexity, age-worthiness, and remarkable expression of Piedmont's limestone-rich soils. Giacomo Boveri’s range includes three distinct single-vineyard Timorasso bottlings, each highlighting unique vineyard characteristics, as well as a Timorasso Piccolo—a lighter, fresher style akin to a Petit Chablis in relation to its more structured counterparts.

"Gee, this has some energy and zip. Green apple, lemon zest, mint and tarragon, a light salted almond top note too. It’s bright and lively, but has depth too, with a sort of a Scotch Finger biscuit creaminess, lemon oil, crushed rock texture, and a long cool finish closing with the gustatory cinch of lemon peel bitterness. This is a cracking release. In fact, it’s touch and go for 95 points.

"Timorasso is the next big thing when looking at white Italian grape varieties. Delicate citrus, characters of mandarin peel and fresh-cut grass. When I look at this glass, it’s like a whiff of spring in the Sorrento peninsula. It’s salty, with crushed rocks, sealine, and acacia blossoms in the background. Good texture on the palate, yet it’s bouncing around with all that energetic freshness and zing sap. Chardonnay meets Riesling." - 95pts
